I love to read. I’ve always been a big reader and I’m sure I will continue to be a book worm for life. The fact that you can pick up a book and learn a new skill is pretty freaking amazing. Below are my current three favorite books that really made an impact on my business and health mindset.
- The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business (By Charles Duhigg) I’ve always wondered why we do what we do. This book dives into the science of habit and explains how the practices of large corporations such as Proctor and Gamble can tap into our brains to make spending decisions. Did you ever ponder why Cinnabon is not located next to other food court vendors? This and other great marketing tactics are explained in this book.
- The Metabolic Secret to Target Stubborn Fat and Fix Your Problem Areas (By Jade Teta and Keoni Teta) If you’ve ever wondered how hormones affect fat burning and metabolism this is the book for you. Brother’s Jade and Keoni Teta explain how the standard eat less, exercise more method is not always the right way to approach fat loss. They discuss working with over 10,000 clients and back up their methods with scientific data. Great info for the science and hormone geeks like me.
- 9 Things You Simply Must Do to Succeed in Life and Love (By Dr.Henry Cloud) The reason I really enjoyed reading this book is that the “9 things” were actionable tasks that I still continue to reference. Dr. Cloud is a Psychologist who, after years of working with patients was able to pin point the common habits of successful people. These practices were repeated among those who had good relationships and felt accomplished in their lives.
